SENIOR CONSULTANT

Position Available

A BlackFin Group Senior Consultant will perform as an individual contributor on client engagement teams as well as work with cross-functional teams and their leadership.  As an individual contributor you will be responsible for various work products, demonstrate subject matter expertise (SME), and aid with all aspects of the project / program delivery life cycle.  Foundational project competencies include issue management, root-cause analysis, interfacing with client processes and procedures, delivery dependencies, and change management identification and resolution.

Additionally, you will possess one or more specializations within your SME sphere of influence.  These may include industry knowledge, technology capabilities or certifications, or process and automation specializations. 


Traditional consulting competencies would include:

  • Exceptional written communications

  • Strong oral delivery—being able to effectively communicate your position

  • Consistently interface with client and BFG management and project personnel

  • Be able to execute against assigned tasks as well as manage delivery of small project teams up to 7 personnel (client and BFG).

  • Ability to identify and quantify project risks and ensure that these are delivered timely

  • Able to produce deliverables and assigned tasks that meet or exceed quality standards

  • Provide SME skills and knowledge per assigned / attributed areas

  • Ability to create consulting visual diagrams and PowerPoint presentations

  • Develop project plans—phase, activity, task—decompositions along with resource loading and cost estimates

  • An ability to adapt to uncertainty within a client environment and identify alternatives that can be presented to BFG engagement managers and client support teams

  • Strong risk management capabilities to not only identify challenges to project goals and objectives, but also provide alternatives that can provide needed mitigation

Specific skills and expertise

  • Ability to use project / program management software and methodologies

  • Strong skills within Google Docs or Microsoft Office

  • Strong design skills including the use of Photoshop and Adobe products

  • Basic audio and video recording capabilities to deliver as part of client engagements

  • A management degree (four year or MBA) with a specialization (e.g., finance, innovation)

  • Ability to use client tools (on an as needed basis) for project reporting, time and attendance, and expense management

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to create documentation for conceptual projects

  • Ability to create (if a technical SME) for delivery (i.e., installation) based projects

  • Zoom and Google Studio for communication and presentations

  • Collaborative skills plus the ability to do team interactions in a socially distant / remote ecosystem

  • Work with BFG executive management (e.g., Chief Innovation Officer) to take leadership documents and artifacts and develop go-to-market solutions and market facing materials
